Going back in Time

Sometimes I wish I could go back in time and raise my 19 year old, almost 20 year old son again. I don't think I did as good a job as I could have. Ever feel like that? He's a good kid basically, but too naive (not an act) and has his head in the clouds, and un-naturally everything is his friends! I have heard him say before that he has the best friends and that he loves his friends. If you say anything about his friends, his face gets all twisted......like he doesn't want to hear it.

His friend got him a job landscaping, before he started the landscaping job (which I knew he wouldn't like) I told him to sign an application at Safeway (major grocery chain) which he did in protest. He actually started one day of landscaping then got called for an interview on Tuesday for the Safeway job. He ended up getting hired at Safeway and after all the hoopla about not wanting to interview and let his friend down on the landscaping job, he is taking my advice and accepted the job. (wonder if one day on the landscaping job had anything to do with that??? Hmmm??? )

At the interview he was hired on the spot and they did a drug test right then and there. I was looking at his paper work from the drug test and it dawned on me to ask him once again for REAL, has he done drugs? Is this test going to come back dirty? He said No to drugs and so I asked about Alcohol and there was a pause.................................................I drank a beer on Monday the day after Mothers day was his reply. Okay the kid is only 19, he'll be 20 in a month, only has one year to wait to drink. Then more questioning from me, and I couldn't get to the truth about where that beer came from. We don't drink so he got it somewhere other then our house.

I don't have to tell you the conversation that occurred after the beer admission. I laid it out for him, about choices, he's on his own if he gets caught now, he's an adult. I feel like a broken record. I just want this kid on the way to a job that he can grow with, make money and gain knowledge while moving on out on his own.

I wish I could go back in time and not have been at times a lazy parent, been more vigilant, anything.........something? Right now the struggles of not wanting your son to be a bum in a dead end job, yet letting them to their own life is my struggle. I wish he could just GET IT! When is it all going to click? GRRRRRRRR! Sorry about my rant, imagine this, I erased half of the rant, this is just a portion of the original.

Snipets of my week

Randomness...............

I'm on a walking kick. I walked 45 minutes a day for 4 days, and I'm heading out today for another walk.

My butt-cheeks and leg muscles hurt like heck! I've been walking up and down hills, but that is probably a good thing right? No pain no gain.

Julie walks with me...:) she's my neighbor, more about her on future post.

I worked one day so far. I finally got called. I was sooooo nervous. Everyone on the crew was so nice, helpful etc. My nerves calmed down.

I worked graves 9-5..........I almost couldn't keep my eyes open on the way home and called Hubs to talk to me and he did....obviously I made it home safely.

Today........... no calls so far for work, so I'm heading out at 9:45 for another walk.

After my walk if still no calls from dispatch, I'm heading out to the store to get some plants for the front flower bed. I'll also lay down some bark.........then move to another flower bed, either today or another day.

Blogging

I haven't blogged for a few days, I've been busy. Also I can't seem to put my thoughts together to blog about all that is going on in this mind of mine.

I want to blog about the high prices of gas.........how the lawmakers are screwing us over. How this country needs nuclear power yet they push bio fuels on us and Corn is suppose to be our savior from our foreign dependence on oil. The whole situation makes me what to scream. Those are some of the thoughts that roll around in this cranium of mine. Yet to blog about it I just can't get my thoughts together.

I can tell you however what I bought at Target the other day. I bought white dishes, 8 plates and 8 bowls, I bypassed the sets of dishes for the singles because I didn't need small plates or coffee mugs I just don't end up using those. So here they are....

I'm moving away from patterned dishes and am going with all white. So as I add to my dishes and trays and serving platters I am sticking to white.

Also while at Target I got this....

I've wanted these planters for a couple of years now, and to my surprise I found it at Target for $9.99. A couple of months ago I ordered two online and then cancelled my order because you find out after you buy it that the shipping is $20/per planter and I had ordered two. Anyway, happy , happy , joy, joy! I guess that's all I have to post about tonight.

A Happy Mother's Day

It's always sad when I can't spend Mother's day with mom. She lives in Hawaii and we are here in the mainland. One of these days I'll spend it with her once more.

Today I went to my massage with my friend Sherry. She treated me! :) What a lucky girl I am!
I am one of the most conservative and modest people out there. Many of my friends won't believe it when I tell them I stripped down to my birthday suit for this massage. At first I thought I would keep my undies on, but I asked Sherry if she kept her undies on and she said no. She said it will only get in the way of a lower back massage etc. So off came the under pants and into the robe I went! With robe and slippers on I marched! Onward Christian Soldier! Sorry I'm getting off track. It was a wonderful massage, I felt so relax and think I snored once but caught myself! :) After the massage was done Sherry and I relaxed with a glass of some kind of vitamin C, sitting in a beautiful lounge looking out at the ocean. It was wonderful. When we were done relaxing, we got changed and met the family for lunch/early dinner.
I whispered in Hubs ear that I need to treat myself to massages once a month now. I told him once you venture to the other side of the curtain, you have to remain there. It's like flying first class......once you fly first class you can't go back to coach. I told him now that I know the wonderful world of relaxation massage I must make it mine! I can't go back to my regular life knowing what I now know!

Aloha Friday

Here is my Post for today's Aloha Friday.

At this very Moment if someone was to ring your doorbell would you be suitable to receive guest and would your house be how you would like guest to see it?

My answer is NO and NO. I would like my answer to be YES and YES. As it is, I'm in my PJ's, I haven't gotten washed up yet. My house needs picking up, but it's not too shabby where I would be embarrassed but I would like it picked up more. One thing I'm trying to work on is getting ready for the day when I awake, but yeah it's not working so much. I need to try harder.
